NOTENDA

Frequently asked questions

Everyday use

  • What is Notenda?

Notenda is a private space for everything you don’t write down anywhere else: your thoughts and memories, but also the day-to-day things you want to keep track of. A food diary, a pet’s health record, travel memories, training sessions, ideas, lists — you organise your notes however you like, in a space that stays yours.

  • What can I put in Notenda?

Anything that matters to you. Notenda doesn’t lock you into a single use: some people keep a private journal, others track their meals, their pet’s health, their workouts or their travels. There’s no limit on how much you write, and you can attach photos and documents to it.

  • What’s the difference between a notebook, a category and a memo?

A memo is a single note: some text, with its date. A category groups memos of the same kind together (“Meals”, “Appointments” or “Ideas”, for example), each with its own icon and colour. A notebook is a container that brings several categories and memos together around one theme (“Health”, “Travel”…). You can create as many notebooks as you like.

  • Can I attach photos and files to a memo?

Yes. A memo takes photos, documents and files: the vet’s invoice, the hotel booking, a picture of a label. Attachments are saved on your device, just like the text, and are included in your backups.

  • How do I pull text out of a photo or a document?

On your phone, Notenda recognises the text in a photo or a scanned page and drops it straight into a memo. Handy for capturing a handwritten note, a prescription or a receipt without typing it all out again. Recognition happens on your device: the image is sent nowhere.

  • Can a memo delete itself?

Yes. You can set a memo to be deleted automatically at a time you choose. Useful for anything not meant to stay: a temporary code, a course of treatment, a passing note. Once the time comes, the memo and its attachments disappear from your device.

  • Can Notenda remind me of something?

Yes. You can attach a reminder to a memo: the cat’s next flea treatment, an appointment, a deadline. The notification is issued locally by your device — it goes through no server, and its text never leaves your phone.

  • How do I filter my memos by category?

Within a notebook, every memo belongs to a category. You can show only the memos in a given category by selecting it — the quickest way to find what you’re after without scrolling through the whole list.

  • Can I search my memos?

On mobile, you can type a keyword to show the memos containing it.

Security and privacy

  • Are my memos protected? Who can read them?

Your memos belong to you, and they don’t leave your device. Notenda creates no account, sends your notes to no server and keeps no copy of them: no one at Fabulette can read them. Their protection is your device’s own — do keep it locked.

  • Do you collect my personal data?

No. We receive neither your name, nor your email, nor the contents of your memos. The app only sends anonymous usage statistics — which feature was used, on what kind of device — tied to a session rather than to a person. They are used solely to fix and improve the app, and are neither sold nor shared. The details are in the privacy policy.

Data and backup

  • How do I export or import my data?

You can export all of your data as a ZIP archive, which holds your memos and your attachments, then import it back into the app if you need to. That is how you keep a copy of your notes outside Notenda. You can also produce a PDF of a selection of memos, to read back or pass on.

  • Can I use Notenda on more than one device?

Notenda syncs nothing: each device has its own data, and nothing travels between them. To pick your memos up elsewhere, export them from the first device and import the archive on the second.

  • Can I get my memos back if I change phone?

Yes, as long as you think of it beforehand: export your data from the old device, then import the archive into Notenda on the new one. Since nothing is stored online, a phone that is lost or reset without a prior export takes its memos with it.

Practical matters

  • Does the app work offline?

Yes, entirely. Notenda needs no connection to work: your memos are on your device and stay available at all times, on a plane as much as at the bottom of a valley.

  • Which platforms is Notenda available on?

Notenda is available on Android and iOS.

  • Is the app free?

Yes, entirely: no advertising, no subscription, no in-app purchase, no feature held back for a paid version. Since Notenda stores nothing online, it costs nothing to run — and nothing here is funded by your data.
