This is a translation of the French original. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.
1. Data controller
The Notenda application is published by Fabulette, the personal project of an independent developer, with no commercial activity.
Contact (GDPR and other questions): team@fabulette.net
2. The principle: your notes do not leave your device
Notenda runs entirely locally. Your notebooks, memos, photos and attached files are saved in your device’s memory and do not leave it.
- No account: no email address, no password, no phone number.
- No synchronisation, no online storage, no backup on our servers.
- No advertising, no advertising tracker, no sale of data.
- Nobody reads your notes: their content is technically inaccessible to us.
Your data leaves your device only if you export it — a ZIP archive or a PDF file — to a location of your choosing. That file is yours and passes through none of our servers.
3. The only thing we receive: anonymous usage statistics
To know which features are actually used and where the application fails, Notenda records technical events and, when a connection is available, sends them to a database hosted in Europe (Supabase).
What an event contains:
- a session identifier — a randomly drawn number, specific to one use of the application, which identifies neither you nor allows you to be followed from one session to the next;
- the action performed, its category (e.g. “notebook”, “creation”) and its timestamp;
- device characteristics: platform, system version, brand and model, screen size, language.
What an event never contains: the content of your memos, the names of your notebooks, your photos, your files, nor any permanent identifier of a person or a device.
These statistics are used solely by the publisher of the application, to fix and improve it. They are not sold, exchanged or passed on to any advertising partner — there is none.
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Running the application (local data) | No collection: processing takes place on your device |
| Improving and fixing the application (session statistics) | Legitimate interest |
4. What the application asks access to on your device
These permissions serve the features described, and nothing else. All of them work locally.
- Camera: text and document scanning (OCR). Recognition happens on the device, via Google ML Kit. No image is stored anywhere other than in the memo you attach it to.
- Photos and files: adding attachments to a memo, importing and exporting your backups.
- Notifications: reminders issued locally by your device. No notification server is involved, and the text of your reminders does not leave the device.
5. Retention periods
- Your data (notebooks, memos, photos, files): kept on your device for as long as you wish. You delete it whenever you want, including automatically, memo by memo. It disappears when the application is uninstalled.
- Usage statistics: kept for 12 months, then deleted.
6. Processors and transfers
- Supabase: hosting of the statistics database, on servers located in Europe.
No other company receives data from Notenda.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, delete, object to and port your data. In practice these rights are exercised directly in the application: the data is with you, and you alone have access to it.
As for the usage statistics, exercising these rights runs into their very nature — they are not linked to any identifiable person, and we have no way of finding the ones that came from your device. For any question: team@fabulette.net.
If, after contacting us, you believe your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL).
To erase all of your data, see the steps on the Delete your data page.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated, in particular if the application evolves towards new services. Any substantial change will be notified in the application.
For the terms of use of the service, see the Notenda terms of use.
